The only limit to your impact is your imagination and commitment. - Tony Robbins
Five years ago, I woke from a very vivid dream. In that dream, my Grandfather, Paul Everingham, the man who introduced me to my first horse experience, said "Hon, those horses are a gift. Share them with others." From that moment on, I knew I had a mission - to bring the emotional experience of working with horses to "others". I have known from the time I was a tiny toddler that horses have a gift, and are not "just" tools to herd cattle, to pull our plows, or to win fancy ribbons. I distinctly remember sitting at the feet of Chica and Chief, the gentle farm horses, knowing I was safe and loved. With DreamCatchers, I am bringing that feeling of safety and love, and true healing, to my community. Over the past five years, I have worked hard to hone what "share them" means - from first introductions to riding lessons for littles and visits in the community, to studying the emotional bond between human and horse and figuring out how to best show others, to where I am today.
Today, DreamCatchers makes a difference in the lives of teens who struggle with confidence, anxiety and finding authenticity, adults who are facing down the daunting monster that is grief, anxiety, and depression, seniors in assisted living communities who want to take in that "horsey smell" and spark memories, and adults in recovery who get to spend time learning to trust something much bigger than themselves.
In the next 12 months or so, DreamCatchers will be adding a whole new level of support with Equine Gestalt Coaching® as I finish the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® program with Touched by a Horse®. This form of coaching - a very coactive, interactive program, will open doors that have never been addressed in Lincoln in this way.
As Tony Robbins says, "the only limit to your impact is your imagination and commitment." I am committed to being the go-to program for Equine emotional support in Eastern Nebraska. I see DreamCatchers on a beautiful, serene acreage with a clean, peaceful and safe barn where groups and individuals can trust that they are allowed to work through the "ick" to a clear, whole way of living. This space will also host business and team building retreats that are like none experienced in this area.
Stay tuned! I am excited for what is, and what will be!
Much love,
Jodi and the Healing Herd
